KOPUTAROA SOCIAL.

The final social of the Koputaroa Y.M.C.A. Bible Class for the season was held last night. There was a large attendance, and Mr S. A. Broadbelt was chairman. During the evening the chairman made a presentation to Mr S. J. Gilbert, the Bible Class leader, on the ocasion of his early removal from the district. The presentation took the form, of a solid silver perpetual calendar and silver pencil-case to match. Mr Broadbeit expressed the regret of the epople ,of Ihakara and Koputaroa at the departure of Mr Gilbert, and referred in very complimentary terms to his work in the district, which was much appreciated. The singing of “For he’s a jolly good fellow” followed the presentation, all joinnig heartily in the singing. A short musical programme followed, items being contributed by Miss M. White and the Misses Broadbelt, whilst a little community singing was indulged in to the enjoyment of all. Games and supper also helped to the success of the gathering. At an appropriate interval a vote of thanks was passed to Miss Jean Forsyth for her appreciated services as pianist to the Bible Class.
