An impudent claim by-the Berlin firm of Drecoll, that Queen Mary had purchased two dresses from it obtained circulation a few weeks ago in the Paris edition of an American paper. Almost siiiiultaneousiy with ibis'the Berlin correspondent of a London paper sent to it a message stating that Princess Mary had ordered two new 1 dresses from Messrs. Drecoll, that the gowns’ wiere made wholly by German _ -workers, and partly from German material. A. reference of these stateaments by the German i costumier to .Buckingham Palace elicited (be following official statement: “A report has • been published in Paris that the ••Queen had ordered two dresses lrom Messrs. Drecoll, a Berlin firm of •dressmakers. The report is a pure fabrication. ‘ Her Majesty and the ’Princ,ess have never had any dealing . 'with/.the. firm.in. question.”
