SHANNON PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.

On Friday evening last the Shannon Presbyterian Church held thenanimal meeting, Rev. Mr Stewart occupying the chair. The secretary and trusurer’s report was received, which showed that steady progress had been made during the year, and the bal-ance-sheet was most satisfactory. The secretary pointed out in his report that Mr Stewart is now holding weeknight services at Makerua, and the residents are taking a keen interest in them.. In Shannon, Mr Stewart is giving addresses on some subject of interest on the last, Sunday of each month. The matter of repairing and painting the manse was discussed, Probably work will be carried out this year. After the business had been dealt with, two presentations were made on behalf of the church, one to Miss Aim, organist, for her, past sendees, and to Mrs McCullough for her work in connection with the church. After the meeting a most enjoyable social was held, items being rendered by the following: Solos, Mesdames Bovis and Bishop and Misses Watterston and Miss Aim; and a duet by Misses Jones and Aim.
