SHANNON SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
The monthly meeting of the Shannon School Committee was held on, Tuesday evening. Present: Messrs. Murray (chairman), Downes, Watterston, Quarrie, Anderson and Birchaii* and Mr Voysey (head teacher).
A letter was read from the Board re. conveyance of school children from. Buckley.—lt was decided that a committee consisting of ' the Chairman* Secretary and Mr Watterston be appointed to make all necessary enquiries and-take any action that may; be necessary. . The matter of payment for cutting wood was left in the hands of th§chairman and secretary to be deal# with.
The sum of £l7 7/6 was passed foij payment. •
Moved by Mr Quarrie, seconded b# Mr Anderson, That the secretary writq to various clubs asking for suggestions and assistance matter of raising funds towards "annual school concert.
An apology for absence was received from the secretary, owing to illness. The Committee expressed the hope that Mr Carlyle would have' a speedy recovery.
