Fat lambs also sold well up to 19/ and 19/6, and even store classes made good sales at improved' rates. The sheep market at present is firmer than it has been l'or the last nine or twelve months. Pigs were better than they have been for the last lew sales, and a fairly good entry was ’ cleared at satisfactory p .ices. Cattle are still dull of sale, and as a consequence there was a small yarding. The dairygentries, both for cows and young slock, was the liveliest section of this portion of the sale. SVeaner Jersey heifers reached £4 j/, Shorthorn weaners'£2 13/ and Holstein cross £2 12/6. Sheep.—Fat ewes 16 6 to 18/5, to 21/ for extra, good, and 23/6 to 21 6 lor prime quality; lat wethers 22/6 to 25/ and 26/ l'or prime; fat lambs 19/ to 19/6, two-tooth and forward wethers 18/6, store lambs 11/4, mixed two-tooths 18/10, store ewes 13/7 to 16/6 for forward conditioned. Gaitle.—Fat cows £2 87, forward cows 32/6 to 35/, small heifers in calf £3 10/,. Jersey weaner heifers £4 1/, Shorthorn weaners £2 13/, Holstejn cross weaners £2 12/6, cull weaners 18/, cows in calf £4 to £6 10/, dairy heifers near profit £lO to £l2 10/.
