Two Wanganui sportsmen w’ho w r ent duck shooting on i the south side of the Wangaehu River a few’ days ago are beginning to fear that their out* ing may prove expensive. They met an affable stranger, and, in the course of conversation, indicated w’here they had been shooting, and mentioned that they had Wanganui district licenses. The affable stranger than introduced himself as a Welligton district ranger, and promised further developments of a legal nature.
“I don’t hold w’ith those who hang on to their fat stock because they can’t get the last penny,” said a well know’n fat stock raiser to a Chronicle repiesentative yesterday. “I have always sold and met the market w’here I the offers were at all within reasonable distance of w’hat I considered fair value, and I think I have come out Jjest.in thglong run.”
