burglaries are becoming frequent in Shannon of late. Recently the school was broken into and ransack-

ed* a few trifling articles being taken.

On Tuesday morning -when Mr A. Burr came fo his business premises he found the front dor open and over £4O worth of tobacco and other goods taken, as well as 10/ worth Of change that had been left in the till. The burglars*'had gained entrance by forcing a back window and then crawling through another into the front shop. The front door, which opens from the inside, was the means of egress. The police have the -natter in hand.
