OBITUARY.

MRS J. CARTER. It is with regret we have to record the death of Mrs J. Carter, mother of Mr S. W. Carter, of this town. The deceased lady was ah old and respected resident of Moutoa for many years, and will be remembered by all for her consistent life and kindly actions to- those who were in need, both Europeans and Maoris. During her last lew years the late Mrs Carter lived in Palmerston North, where she passed away on Sunday morning. A large grown-up family is left to mourn their loss and to them the heartfelt sympathy of the community will be tendered.
