On the lequest of the Borough .iomicil, Mes.is. Spencer Bros, drew a plan of a Jour-roomed house and uiveii.cnees estimated at £683 Jor election under the municipal housing scheme for the building of si* noises. The plan was submitted by Or. Spencer and left in the hands of the Building Committee to go iurther into the estimate.
A gi.ihd hall will lie held in .the Druids' Hall on Friday, March 17. The •ommiltee have all the arrangements '.veil in.hand, and as this is the first hall o). thp season,' a large attendance s anticipated. «
It. was reported to the Borough .osiiicil on Tuesday that 27 summonses had been issued against local residents for having allowed stock to wander on ihe* roads. These will be ueard at the next sitting ol Hie Court n Levon. Fight others that were previously issued and held over on account of the illness of the previous ranger will also he heard at the same time.
On Tuesday evening at 7.30, a social will be held in the Methodist Church, when it is hoped to- see asmany friends as,, possible present, j’iiere will be a short musical programme, and dining the evening the pi ounce which is sent in to the’ cltinch will be sold, with a few woollen garments for children, goods that were lelt over from the sale of work last year. These are being offered cheap, and are just the things that are wauled for Ihe winter coming on. Supper will he provided, and a charge of 6d will be made, including supper.

The Shannon Orchestra' will give a concert on the 30ih of this month m order to raise funds to carry on. The concert is in the hands'of Messrs. Ward, Quarrie and Parkhouse, and an excellent programme has been arranged. As the orchestra was formed with the view of making it permanent, it is hoped that all who can wilt give tlieir patronage, ./rickets, price ■>■ and 1/, will be obtainable within the next few days from members of the orchestra. Miss Neale has taken over the position of leader, vice Mr Merwood, whose work for the P.W.D. makes it unable for him to attend. Mr Ward leaves for Auckland early in April, and we hear Mr Merwood Is likely to go still further afield to contintie his studies.
