Shopkeepers at Te Kuiti are much perturbed over an epidemic of window scratching which has been going on for some time. climax was reached the other evening, when a number of windows were deeply cut, apparently by some person walking the length of the main street and scratching each window with a smai diamond. The handsome plat eg lass windows of the Farmers’ Tiading Company came in for special attention. The management states that n only requires a strong wind to blow the windows right in. These windows were damaged in the same way Jas year, and one which had to be taken out cost £l2O to replace.
