TOKOMARU NOTES.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) Tokomaru is still going ahead. Miss Beswick is prepared to take in pupils for pianoforte lessons and painting at the residence of Mr. F. Smith, next door to post office, which should be an advantage to the township. The baker, Mr Grady, I am given to understand, will start baking next week, which will be greatly appreciated. The Presbyterian Sunday School intend holding their, annual picnic next Saturday. We hope the weather will be favourable. It is rumoured that we are to have a Chinese shop opened here shortly. What Oh! Miss Parr, who has been to the South Island for a holiday, has returned after having a very enjoyable time. The local school opens Tuesday, the 7th. I think some of the mothers will be pleased at that.
