TOKOMARU NOTES.

Mr A. Wood, who met with an accident some time ago and had to j.o to Palmerston Nortli Hospital to go under an operation, is able to get about now, but is far from well yet. Mrs G. Walton, who has been ill for some time, is, we are giad to say, recovering. the place had a. deserted appear-, ance on Monday. A lew picnickers from Palmerston North went to the Horseshoe Bend, up the Tokomaru River, and spent a very enjoyable day. The weather has been very boisterous these iast few days, and those who have not got their hay in are having it blown all over the place.
On Tuesday Miss Kelly gave her Sunday School class a picnic at, the riverside, and they spent a very pleasant day.
