A WORLD’S CRUISE.

ADVENTUROUS AMERICANS. Suva, December 12. The trim-lookng, ocean-goiing motor yacht Speejacks, 64 tons, reached ;Suva after an interesting voyage. The ; little vessel, which is a beautiful model, and most comfortably fitted .throughout, is owned by Mr A. Y. VGowen, of the Cleveland Yacht Club, LNew York, who is accompanied by his '.wife, and six friends compose the ♦crew. A secretary and two cooks comiplete the ship’s company. The vessel carries one mast equiprped with wireless outfit, and a ;squaresail and jib. She is the first 'vessel to arrive in Fiji with a wiredess telephone outfit, and the operators at Papeete picked her up when 1200 miles away, and distinctly heard :a gramophone concert on board. Voices could be heard so distinctly rthat the speakers could be identified. The yacht carries two fishing dories ;and a dinghy. 'The yacht left New York on August fcl, and called* at Florida, Jamaica, Panama Canal, the Paumotos, Tahiti, Pago Pago, and Apia 1o Suva. Throughout the trip the average has been 7s. knots, and from Apia to Suva 10 knots, and she can run up to 13£ knots an hour. , From Fiji the route will be to New Hebrides, Nonmea, Brisbane, Manila, Japan, China, India, Colombo, the Suez Canal, England and home. The owner and Mrs Gowen left the vessel at Papeete, in order to see New Zealand, and will rejoin the Speejacks later. The yacht is equipped with a pair of 200h.p. Winton Diesel engines and two 7J k.w. Westinghouse generators, and has twiq screws. She carries an ice machine, and is fitted with every modern convenience. *
