BOWLING.
The second round of the Banner Competition against the Palmerston North Club, which was postponed from a previous date, was. played at Shannon on Saturday last. The weather was anything but good for bowls. Results were:— Palmerston North (Hancock, Stewart, Livingstone, Needham)—l3, v. Shannon (H. Brett, Murray, Murphy, Knowles)—24. Palmerston North (Jones, Kerslake, Pickering, Fraser)—2l, v. Whibley, Quarrie, Carr, Roach)—l4. The postponed first round against Foxton will take place at Shannon on Wednesday next. Shannon rinks are: H. Brett, Murray, Murphy, Knowles (s.).
