HOROWHENUA POWER DISTRICT.
A Press Association message from ' Wellington states that a proclamation lias been issued by the Governor-Gene-ral constituting the Horowhenua Electric Power District. This district comprises the boroughs, of Levin, Shannon, Otaki, and Foxton,. Horowhenua,. County, the Wh&reroa Biding of the Hutt County, andithe AWaliou Riding of the Manawatu County. > Mr p. W. Goldkmithi secretary of the Horowhenua provisional committee, states that,he has not yet received the official notification, but it should arrive at any time now, together with an inquiry as to when it. was desired to j hold thf election of the power Board.! Mr Goldsmith added that it was very j satisfactory indeed to see that the peti-1 tion asking that the Board be formed j had had-the desired result, and that j matters In connection therewith were so weir advanced.
The proclamation also contains the constitution of the Man&watu-Oroua Electric Power . District, ; which' comprises, the boroughs of Palmerston North -and Feilding, and the counties of Oroua, Kiwitea, Pohangina, Kairanga and portion of the Manawatu County.
