{From Our Own Correspondent.} It is reported locally that the new road from Koputaroa to Buckley and Shannon will be commenced after the New Year. Mr Andrew Forsyth, son of the local schoolmaster, who is studying - electrical engineering at the Canterbury University, is at present home for the term holidays, and leaves again shortly for a practical course at Petonc workshops. ' Miss Mavis White, who is at present an inmate of the Palmerston Hospital, is making satisfactory progress, and also Ihe youth, Oswald Doyle, who was thrown from his cycle and received painful facial injuries.
