SOUTHLAND BOARD GETS UNDER WAY.
OFFICERS APPOINTED. M 1 At the annual meeting of the South- j land Power Board. Mr W. Hinchy was ! elected chairman, his salary beinjj! fixed at £3OO per annum. Mr Herbert I P. Thomas, of East St. Hilda, Mel-1 bourne, was appointed chief engineer, J at a salary of £I2OO per annum. Mrj Thomas is a graduate of the Mel-j bourne University and the McGill University, of Montreal, and has had i fourteen years’ engineering experi- | once in Canada and the United States, : where he was engaged on a number !of large electrical installations. He ' is at present chief engineer to Thomas and Co., Melbourne.
