The secretary of the Levin Horticultural Society has received a tele gram from the Governor-General’s. Private Secretary stating that Lord Jellicoe will be pleased to visit and declare open the Society’s Summer Show on Monday next. - The Society, in view of Vice-Regal patronage, naturally wishes to make, its show as complete as possible so far as the horticultural resources of this district are concerned, and it is therefore hoped that amateur gardeners will co-operate with the Society j to the fullest extent. Schedules may be obtained at the Chronicle Office. They provide classes for pot plants, cut blooms, fruit and vegetables, cookery and preserving, needlework, painting and sketching, and photo- | graphy.
