THE EASTERN CHARM.

* no BE STAGED IN LEVTN. A large audience witnessed the second performance of “The Eastern. Charm” on Friday evening, there being hardly a vacant seat. The per formers seemed to,have gained more confidence, and played to even greater advantage than they did the previous evening. Requests have been made to again show in Shannon, but the committee consider it would not be advisable. Cr. Hyde called a meeting of the performers and parents of the chil (lien on Saturday afternoon to consider the advisability of showing in other towns. A large number were present, and it was unanimously decided tec show in Levin, and to donate a proportion of the net takings to the fund for the Levin Fire Brigade Ambulance class. On account of the school examinations and other local functions, no date could be fixed earlier than December 2. It was left to Mr Hyde to see if he could secure the theatre in Levin for that date, and if so, to make the necessary arrangements.
