INCREASE OVER ESTIMATES.
A comparative statement oi expenditure oi me Palmerston Norm Hospital board tor the past six mouths, as compared wun the esumateu expenditure, which was placed before tne board this week, showed a net increase of £l2lß 7s Id. The detailed increases included: Salaries £45 is 3d, uniforms £24 12s 7d„ surgery and dispensary £192 13s lOd, lurmture and earthenware £ll3 11s, bedding and drapery £ll4 19s 3d, luel and lighting £BB2 10s sd, insurance £62 12s lid, administration £B6 6s, cab hire and fares 11s 6d, rates and rents £l2 0s lOd, OJd People’s Home £235 7s Id. Decreases were shown in the following items: Maintenance of buildings and grounds £196 2s 2d, provisions £53 19s Id, wines and spirits £46 16s, laundry, etc., £7B 8s lid, ambulance £57 11s 3d, legal expenses £44 4s 3d, miscellaneous £l4B 6s 6d, charitable aid £348 7s sd. The total estimated expenditure for the six months was £13,754 and, the actual expenditure £14,970 ,7s Id.
