SALE OF PURE-BRED STOCK.
AT CENTRAL DEVELOPMENT FARM
On Wednesday, 19tli inst., the ail-, nual .sale of registered Friesian and Red Poll bulls, cows and heifers will be held at the Central Development Farm, and as usual a select entry has been catalogued. The whole of the entry has been bred on the Farm, which has a reputation for the quality of its blood stock, so that buyers can operate with every confidence and the knowledge that their purchases have proved records behind them. The catalogue includes 20 yearling pedigree Friesian bulls, five pedigree Friesian cows in calf, five three-year-old pedigree Friesian heifers in calf, three two-year-old pedigree Friesian empty heifers, four yearling pedigree Friesian heifers, six yearling pedigree Red Poll bulls, and one four-year pedigree Guernsey bull. The Farm’s Friesian stock is recognised as being among the best bred in the Dominion, and breeders of the Black and Whites have the opportunity of introducing a new line into their herds. The Farm’s Red Poll herd is, perhaps, the finest in the North Island. The Poll is a rare dualpurpose animal, and is rapidly gainin favour for beef as well as dairy purposes, and admirers of the breed at Palmerston and Dannevirke in this Island, and at Christchurch in the South, have already achieved considerable success with these animals. The sale is recognised as one of the most important in New Zealand, and will no doubt attract buyers from all parts of the Dominion as in former years.
