PARAPARAUMU WIN CHAMPIONSHIP.
BY 10 POINTS TO 8. WERAROA’S CREDITABLE DISPLAY The final for the junior championship of the Horowhenua district was played off on Saturday on the Levin Domain between Weraroa and Paraparaumu, the respective winners of the northern and southern competitions. The game proved to be a stirring one, and quite worthy of the championship. Although the combination among the backs of both teams could have been improved, there was no doubt about the individual merit of several of the players in either. rearguard, but it was on the forwards that the brunt of the work fell, and they made it a fast, willing battle from start to finish. In the last half of the second spell the Weraroa forwards were outlasting their opponents and playing better together. Another score looked like coming Weraroa’s way at any mordent, hut the final whistle went with Parapaxauinu still in the lead by 10 points to 8. The visitors were accomoanied by a strong following of supporters, and there was a good attendance of local enthusiasts,
