ROUND THE WORLD.

THE YACHT AMARILLIS. Suva, August 1. A very interesting little craft arrived in Suva Harbour on Thursday, July 28. She is the yacht Amarillis, owned and’sailed by Lieutenant G. H. P. Muhlhouser. R.N.R. She is of 28 tons gross measurement, with a carrying capacity of ■ seven tons, and is yawl rigged. She is a roomy little craft and of good lines, and has proved herself an excellent sea boat. Sbe left England on September 20, 1920, and crossing the Atlantic, passed through the Panama Canal, and thence commenced a leisurely tour of the Pacific. The Marquesas and other island groups were visited, including Samoa, from whence the yacht sailed for Fiji. Lieutenant Muhlhouser has only two lads as crew*, on a French Creole and the other an Indian from Central America. ’Both are mere lads, one 18 and the other 19 years old, and both are happily careless of whither they go.

It is the owner’s intention to stay here for a month, then sail for Sydney and later proceed to Auckland. The yacht uses her sails for travel, but a small 12 horse-power auxiliary is handy for harbour or river wbrk. The little vessel has done good service as a yacht im Home waters, and is no less than 39 years old. The trip so far has been quite uneventful, and without any accident or mishap.— Auckland Star.
