COUNTY COUNCIL MAKES A GRANT The Shannon W.E.A., through its secretary. Mr G. G. Kelly, made application to the Horowhenua County. Council at Saturday’s meeting for a grant towards.its funds. Mr Kelly stated that the class was established as a permanent institution, thanks to the support of-the Council, the Shannon Borough Council, Mr A. Seifert,' and other public-spirited citizens. The class, was now in its final year for the subject of economics. The chairman (Cr. Monk): We support the Levin branch, and should do the same for Shannon. He thought a, grant should be made of the same amount as last year. On the motion of the chairman, seconded bv Cr. Whyte, the sum o. r £lO was granted, payment to be made through Victoria College.
