He moved accordingly. ! Cr. Hook pointed out that the special timber Tor the notices could not be •got in Shannon. | Gr. Spencer supported Cr. Hook’s ' statement that the boards could not be procured in Shannon, and added that the ordering of such work “should be put in abler hands in future.” , Cr. Gardner:-Where did Cr. Hyde get the gates on the Recreation Ground? Cr. Hyde: In Palmerston North, because they were wanted in a hurry. ' Cr. Spencer: Well, > what is the ob- . jeetion of going to. Palmerston North now? )' Cr. Gardner: If anything is left in councillors’ hands to do, it should be left to them and not criticised/ Cr. Hyde: I am talking of work in the future. Cr. Spencer (to Cr. Hyde): You don’t, know what you are talking about half your time. Cr. Hyde’s motion was seconded by the Mayor and carried.
