The report stated: During the past year your committee took up the idea of enlisting life members at a subscription of £lO each, for the purpose of raising sufficient money to enable them to proceed with the erection ol further buildings, etc. The call was weli responded to, the result being that £4OO was gathered in, by which they were able to erect suitable shed accommodation for cattle, and other improvements, which were .much appreciated by exhibitors. The entries for the last show were very satisfactory, emd were in excess of the pro.vi ous year, although there was a marked falling off in sheep, which showed a decrease of some 50 per .cent. This decrease was, however, well overcome by the increased number of entries in several of the Ring Competitions, due to the fact that some ol these were made post entrance, an were in the hands of very energetic stewards, the financial result being very gratifying. Your committee has now taken in hand the work of fencing and improving the show ring, Which it is hoped will be in first-class order for next year’s show. Your committee wish to thank those who assisted by either gift stock for competitions, etc., trophies and monetary donations, also the various stewards who had control of the many classes and competitions, and all others who assisted in other ways to make the show the success it was. ,In moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, Mr Tuliy congratulated the Association on its satis- ( factory condition. Starting the year with a balance of £7 13s, they had finished with a credit of £llß, independent of life members’ fees of £4OO, which had gone into improvements on the ground. There were also outstanding members’ fees that were collectable. He regretted the death-dur-ing the year of Mr B. R. Gardener, who had been one of the founders ol the Association. He was the originator of the scheme for buying the showground (in conjunction with the Racing Club). Notwithstanding the financial stringency,'the society’s members ; bad not shown any signs of “getting the wind up” as the soldiers would say, and lie did not anticipate any falling off. He urged members to do their best to increase the membership. He thanked all who had worked for the Society and assisted. It his successor had a similar experience to the speaker,- he would have a very good time while in office. Mr J. Kebbell drew attention to the outstanding members’ subscriptions £4O, which he thought rather high. The chairman said the Society would get most of this money. There were twelve unfinancial members at the previous annual meeting, and since then eight of these had paid up. • i In answer to Mr A. McLeavey, the secretary explained that the item, arrears from sale of stock £2B 10s, was an amount that should have gone into the previous year. The secretary read the details of ihe expenditure of £399 on buildings and improvements and £3B miscellaneous. Mr Sigley said there was 3500 feet of timber over from the building operations, and this did not show on the balance-sheet, so that the Associa-
