LEVIN STOCK MARKET.
A GOOD SALE. A representative entry in all departments was yarded at yesterday’s sale. There was a good attendance, and as there was a keen inquiry from outside buyers, the sale had a healthy tone throughout, and was the best for some time past. In the pig seel ion porkers showed a strong improvement on last week, and the early approach of the dairy season was reflected in the demand for weaners. The fat pens in the sheep' classes were well filled, and the sale for these was goo I throughout. There were some extra prime ewes among the entry, and these met keen competition, the fine price,, of 28s 9d, 28s and 22s 6d being reccw;d for the best lots. The ordinary fat lines also met good inquiry, wethers making from 16s to 20s 10tl, lambs to 15s ,an.d ewes 15s 3d to 17s 6d. Fat cattle met, a belter sale than usual, and the bulk of the yarding was quitted at fair values. Stores, however, were not in much request, and although the lines forward were cleared, vendors were quite wilting to do busiuess at low rates. On the whole the sale was most satisfactory. The following is an indication of the values received:—
