ANXIETY IN CANTERBURY. At a meeting of the Canterbury Edu- ; cation Board, Mr .7. Gow referred to the prevalence of goitre in Canterbury, and said the recent paper by Dr. Hercus in the New Zealand Medical Journal showed the trouble was almost alarmingly conspicuous in certain schools in the province. Other members agreed that it was a serious matter. It was unanimously resolved that the Health Department be written, to with regard to the prevalence of goitre in Canterbury, and that it he asked what steps should be taken to combat the disease, and if the Education Board could co-operate with the department for the benefit of the children attending school.
