Stranding of the Falcon.
(By Thlkqbaph.j WANGANUI, Feb. 23. The schooner Falcon, with flour from Timaru, went ashore in the river at 2 o'clock j this afternoon. The Shormbinl was towing her in, and had just cleared the bar when the line parted. The vessel is the property of Mr John Duncan, of Picton, and her master, Captain Green, says that she is not injured. The cargo is consigned to Messrs A. Patrick and Co. It consists of 100 tons of flour and 600 sacks of oots. The latter is insured for £2OO in the New Zealand In surance Company. The insurance on the flour is not known. It is ?xpected that the vessel will float off when the cargo has been removed [The flour was shipped by the Atlas mill, and the oats by the G F.O.A The flour was also insured. A telegram received by Evans and Co. this morning stated that drays were alongside the vessel taking the cargo out of her.]
