JSJatl.) London, Feb, 21. “Bears” have depressed all colonial stocks except those of New Zealand. Mr Holmes, formerly secretary to the foreign bondholders, proposes that the colonies should assign their Customs revenue as security for their debts, and establish e bank to collect the doss. By
this means the colonies, he believes, would induce the investment of trust funds in colonial stocks. New York, Feb. 21. The official receiver appointed for the Philadelphia and Beading Railway Company states that the assets are ample, and that the crisis is owing to the enormous business of the company and the small amount of capital. The prospects of the company are sound.
