A practice game of the latter club will take place on the Caledonian ground to-morrow afternoon. Members of other clubs are invited. The cricket match fixed for yesterday, between the Timaru and Ashburton Cricket Clubs, fell through owing to the inability of the latter club to get an eleven together. Next week the first ma'ob of the Wsitaki Cricket Association will be played at Oamsru aghast an Otago eleven. Several members of Timaru Cricket Club will be included in the Waitaki team. The Tress reports that at the sitting of the Congregational Union yesterday considerable discussion took place on the question of tbe purchase of tho Church property in Timaru by (ho Baptist, congregation. It. appear* that the Bev Mr Brown, of Timaru,purchased from tho Congregational Church there two years ago, for £BOI, the building and fixing of the Church worth at that time fully £2400, and the question has been raised whether repurchase might not take place or inquiry be made as to the legality of the transaction, which consummated in tbe traneferenoe of the property.
