The Fifeshire has been busy all day and will leave for Dunedin to-hight. The schooner Lily is at the buoys ready for sea, and the Glencairn and Falcon waiting to take in cargo, , , .... The Omapere discharged coal at the inner berth of the main wharf to-day. She goes south this evening. The Orowaiti, with a full cargo of coal, arrived in port yesterday afternoon, and took up the berth at the Moody jetty just loft by the Ragna. She will finish discharging to-day. The barque Eagna was towed clear of the Moody jetty yester day afternoon and swung to at the buoy off the entrance. She has a full cargo of wool and wheat, and has met with splendid despatch, having only been in port 18 working days. She has taken in 10,398 sacks of wheat. 1803 bales of wool, 207 casks of tallow, and 18 casks of pelts. She will probably get away for London to-morrow. A very large number of people visited the wharves and breakwater yesterday to see the numerous vessels that were either at work or at anchor in the port. At the main wharf the ocean liner Fifeshire occupied the place of honbnr, and astern of her were the Union Company’s steamers Pukaki and Omapere. The barque Highland Forest had to be warped off to make room for the Pukaki. Close to the steamers lay the schooners Glencairn and Lily, whilst at the Moody jetty were the Union Company’s steamer Orowaiti and the barque Pern. The Eagna swung to the Home vessels’ buoy ready for sea, and the barques Araby Maid and Peri, and the schooner Falcon, lay to the northward of her. The day marked a “ record ” thatTimaru and all interested in its harbour was justly proud of, for the number of vessels so cosily lying at their moorings and the total tonnage represented were the largest ever seen here, The total aggregate tonnage of the steamers was 5431 tons, and of the sailing vessels 4753 tons, making a grand total of 10,184 tons. The port was as busy again to-day.
