THE AUSTRALIAN FLOODS.

Garrick, Agent-General for Queensland, has published .a telegram from the Premier of that colony that it is not necessary to appeal to the public, though private assistance in aid of sufferers by floods would be gratefully received. The Times states that the continual increase of colonial bills is not regarded with favor in the city, and it is thought Queeuslaud will ask a new loan with an Imperial guarantee on account of the floods. It hopes that despite the AgentGeneral’s letter a Mansion House fund will be started. (Received 12.40 a.m., Feb. 15th.) Brisbane, Feb. 15. Three bodies, of two men and a woman, have been recovered from the river. (By Telegraph.) AUCKLAND, Feb. 15. A sum of £330 was cabled to-day from Auckland citizens to Brisbane, for the Queensland relief fund. Subscriptions are coming in freely.
