The earthquake was felt at Hawen and Woodville, and lasted here 40 seconds in all. Enquiries this morning disclosed no damage beyond what is reported, except small smashes in a few shops. One man estimates his loss at £lO worth of light articles. WESTPORT, Feb. 13. The earthquake shook yesterday alarmed many people, but no damage was done. CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 13. |sThree distinct shocks of earthquake were experienced here’ shortly after eight o’clock yesterday morning, but they were very mild and caused no alarm. In North Canterbury the ebooks were proceeded by a loud rumbling noise. No damage is reported. O AMARU, Feb 13. Yesterday’s earthquake was felt here.
