The fund has reached £6OOO, and it is estimated that 10,000 persons will require relief, absorbing at least £25,000. (Be Telegraph.) WELLINGTON, Fbb. IS.ffl The Premier has received the follow cable from the Premier of Queensland in reply to a message sent by the New Zealand Government s—■“ The Government is very gratified for joat. kind expression of sympathy. Much destitution is caused by the total destruction pf b9BHi| and much help will be required.
OHHISTOHUBOH, Ebb. 13. At the United Methodist Church last night a motion was carried “That this congregation expresses sympathy with the sufferers by the floods in Brisbane, and appoint a deputation to wait on the Mayor ashing him to convene a meeting fop the purpose of materially aiding the sufferers.” OAMAEU, Feb 13. ' The Mayor has called a public meeting for to-night, to consider the relief of the Brisbane sufferers. The City Band announce a sacred concert for Sunday next for the same object.
