CRICKET.

A match arranged between a team from the Herald office and one from the Colonial Cricket Ciub came off on the Caledonian Ground on Saturday last, and resulted in a draw, greatly in favour of the Colonials. Several of the Herald team did not roll up and others ware substituted. The Herald team, being mostly a raw one, did not shape very well in the field, and in their batting did their best against the bowling of Grey, Macintosh and Thompson. The Colonials went in first, Macintosh (27) being the only one to get into double figures, but the chances he gave were never taken advantage of. Boys did most of the bowling for the printers. The latter team made a poor stand, C. Wood (II), making nearly half the score. In the second innings the Colonials made 85 for 9 wickets, playing up to time of drawing ; but the tig score was chiefly through changing the bowling, most of which proved ineffective, Thompson, with fine free hitting made 43 (not out), and Macintosh 10. Refreshments were provided by the Office team. The following are the scores : Colonials. First Innings, Second Innings.
