A good attendance is expected. The sports were started punctually, after the competitors end officials bad been photographed. About 1000 people are present. Time—ll l-Sthseo-Final Heat. Hempton 1 Nathan 2 Robinson 3 Won by a yard. Time—lo 2-sthsec. Halt-Mile Championship. Gurr (Wellington) 1 Burke (Dunedin) 3 Fitzpatrick (Canterbury) ... 3 Gurr led ad the way, but only managed to get home from the Dunedin man by eight inches, after a magnificent finish. Time— Smin 4sec. One Mile Walking Championship. Thomas (Canterbury) 1 Findlay (Dunedin) 2 Adams (Wellington) 3 Tbe only starters. After going a lap and a half Adams stopped, but went on again. Tbe other two kept together till near tbe finish when Thomas drew away and won easily. { Time—7min 12 2 sth sec. , 120 Yards Hurdles Championship. First Heat. West (Canterbury) vr o. 1 After two attempts he cleared 10ft o*in 1 which is slightly over the standard. ' One Mile Championship, Rees (Canterbury) 1 Leggett (Canterbury) ... ... ... 2 j Cooper (Wellington) 3 All started except Burke. Rees and Leggett went well to the front. Oocper made t a good effort to overhaul the leaders, but 1 finished 15 yards behind Leggett, who was 10 |, yards behind Rees ; Rankin last, i Time - 4min 41 3-slh secs. ! ■
