CHRISTCHURCH CORN EXCl^^^B The following is the Christchurch TBPPBff change report for the week ended Friday, February 10th, 1893 The weather of the week has been everything to bo desired, and deprived farmers of the old* English privilege of grumbling. Wheat—The price is a hard nut to crack, and what the kernel will turn out is problematical. One thing is certain, it will not be high. The old prime in stock, and the offers of new crop are rapidly approaching each other. Oats — Old feed are still asked for and new milling wanted at quotations. Barley—We have some new season’s offered, but are still looking for the prime malting at 4s. The local samples shown us are very indifferent, though we are told some excellent quality has been offered from Blenheim. Ryegrass—-The demand has slackened, though a good quantity has been shipped, all last week’s sales. Peas selling well. Dairy produce—The English cables show a drop in price, and our market is in sympathy. Wheat—Milling 2s Bd, others Is 9d to 2a 4d. Oats—Old feed Is 9d, new milling Is 9d, tartars Is lOd. Barley—Prime malting is. Peas-r-Blue Prussians 3s Id, feed 2s 6.1. Potatoes—Kidneys 4's at stations. Ryegrass—Farmers’ 2s to 2s 6d, machined 3s 6d. Cocksfoot—The shippers are cautiousvery. : No boom in it. Butter, cheese and millers’ goods—As per last week’s report. The above prices are those paid to farmers, f.0.b., packages extra.
