DESTRUCTIVE FIRE.
£50,000 WORTH OF PROPERTY DESTROYED. (By Telegraph.) NAPIER. Feb. 9. A fire bn-ke out in Roche’s, draper’s shop at Hastings at 2.30 a.tn. to-day, and spread over the whole and the opposite blocks, destroying 22 buildings. It is estimated that the damage will be £50,000. Ihe following places are burntJull’s Hastings Hotel ; Wickett, draper; Chong Kec, grocer; Tyerman and Broad, chemists; Now Zealand Clothing Factory ; Hannah’s boot shop ; Hyde, tobao* ooniet; MoHwen, deeper; Roche, draper; Smyth, stationer; Williams and Kettle, store; Robson, watchmaker; Greene, commission agent; Bank of New Zealand ; Maxwell's restaurant; Dennett’s offices ; Bank of New South Wales; Mayo, fruiterer ; Wastnoy’s Law offices ; Siffipson’s shooting gallery ; and a large building in the course of erection for Mnddiaon and Co,
