Dkak Sib, —I am directed by the Committee of Judging and Awards to acknowlcdge.your letter of the J6th inst., and to,inform you that when the Davis’ Sewing Machine Company’s protest was investigated by the Committee, it was decidoi to;refer the - matter - back to the Jurorf 'of Section VII., asking whether they would kii.dly reconsider their decision and inform them (the Committee) at an early opportunity whether their decision given—of a First Order of Merit, Silver Medal - could be altered to a recommendation of certificate of GMd Medal, the reply was that, after due consideration, they could see no reason for altering the award 'lbis was final, land accepted by_ the Committee, Messrs Fiske and Co. being advised of the result, consequently the advertisement you refer to is NOT OFFICIAL.
