VOLUNTEER OFFICERS AT LOGGERHEADS.

[By Telegraph J Oamaru, Dec. 2. The indefinite nature of the Order in Council making new Volunteer regulations has led to a difficulty here. On Thursday the Artillery and Rifles fire fora cup given by Mr Shrimski, M.H.R., and Captain Oreagh, of the Artillery, has given written notice to Captain Headland, that ho objects to bandsmen of Rifles firing in the team, holding that it is contrary to the new regulations now in force, and that under them the band becomes a garrison band. Oapt. Creagh is a lawyer, and threatens to persist in his objection, and as Capt. Healand.is equally persistent, complications are likely to arise, unless the point is put beyond dispute.
