E. lALE OP PASTORAL LEASES OP CROWN LANDS. PRELIMINARY NOTICE. General Crown Lands Office, Wellington, 20th Sept., 1882. r\NE million seven hundred and fifty thousand acres of Crown Lands will hortly be open for Pastoral Lease in the ’rovincial District of Otago, New Zealand, This country is at present held under ease in forty-six runs until the Ist March 884, and will again be offered in runs uitable to the nature of the country ; but o lessee will be allowed to take up more ban will carry twenty thousand sheep or our thousand head of cattle. The leases will be for a term of years to e hereafter determined ; but in no case nil any lease be for a period exceeding wsnty-one years. Compensation for improvement up to hree years’ rental will be allowed at the od of the lease. In order to give new pastoral lessees time 3 make arrangements, the licenses will, in arms of the Land Acts, be sold by.public, notion, at the Land Office, Dunedin, in he latter end of February, 1883, 12 months efore possession is to be given. One ear’s rent will be payable in advance on he license at 'he time of sale. The country has been occupied for upwards of 20 years. It is well grassed, well atered, sound, and healthy. Distance from port by eood roads and ulways part of the way, from thirty to ue hundred and fifty miles. And on the 20th December, there will i offered by public auction, at;, Patea, ten ctions of Forfeited Deferred-Payment md, also the unsold portion of the Townip of Richardson, and 19,235 acres of aral Bush Land, for cash, at upset prices, nging from £1 to £6 per acre. On the 21st December, 4,537 acres of rricultural Deferred-Payment Land, sing portion of the Wanganui Harbor sard Endowment, near Feilding and the Dkomaru Block, near Wanganui, will be >en for application, at Wanganui and ellington, at prices ranging from £1 10a sr acre upwards.
