SALE OF PASTORAL LEASES OF CROWN LANDS. PRELIMINARY NOTICE. General Crown Lands Office, Wellington, 20th Sept., 1882. ONE million seven hundred and fifty thousand acres of Crown Lands will shortly be open for Pastoral Lease in the Provincial District of Otago, New Zealand, This country is at present held under in fony-six rims until the Ist March 1881. and will airain hi offered in runs suitable to the natme ot the country ; but no lessee will be allowed t > take up more Than will carry twenty thousand sheep or four thousand head of cattle. Ibe leases will be for a term of years to be hereaftfer determined ; but in no case will any lease be for a period exceeding twenty-one years. Compensation for improvement up to three years’ rental will be allowed at the end of the lease. In order to give new pastoral lessees time to make arrangements, the licenses will, in terms of the Land Acts, be sold by public auction, at the Land Office, Dunedin, in the latter end of February, 1883, 12 months before possession is to be_ given. One year’s rent will be payable in advance on the license at > he time of sale. The country has been occupied for upwards of 20 years. It is well grassed, well watered, sound, and healthy. Distance from port by good roads and railways part of the way, from thirty to one hundred and fifty miles. Maps and further particulars will be obtainable shortly at the Land Offices of New Zealand, and at places in the Australian Colonies, to be named in future advertisements. WM. SALE OF ABOUT 106,000 ACRES OF CROWN LANDS IN THE NORTH ISLAND, Q ALB of about 106,000 acres of Crown O Lands in the North Island, divided into Town, Village Settlement, Agricultural Deferred Payments, Pastoral Deferred Payments, and Cash Payment Sections, as under;— On the 4th December, 1882, 2,110 acres of Agricultural Land in the Waimata and other blocks on the East Cons' will be open for application, on deferred payments, at Auckland and Gisborne, at prices from £1 to £l los per acre. And on the 7th December, 6,589 acres will be disposed of at Gisborne, by public auction, on pastoral deferred payments, at an upset price of £1 per acre. At the same time and place, 58,000 acres of Rural Land will be offered for cash, at upset prices ranging from 5s to £1 10s per acre. On the 12th December, 3,434 acres of superior Agricultural Land in the Parihaka Block, divided into Rural Allotments, on deferred payments, and Tillage Settlement Allotments, at prices ranging from £1 10s. to £25 per acre, will be open for application at New Plymouth, Patea, and Hawera. And on the 15lh December, 3.450 acres will be offered for cash, at New Plymouth, at prices ranging from £1 to £4 per acre. On the 18th December, 2,918 acres of Agricultural Land situate in the Wairoa and Momahaki Districts will be open for application, on deferred payments, at Patea and Hawe’ra, at prices ranging from £1 to £4 10s per acre. And on the 20th December, there will I be offered by public auction, at Patea, ten sections of Forfeited Deferred-Payment L'ind, also the unsold portion of the Township of Richardson, anrl 19,235 acres of Rural Bush Land, for cash, at upset prices, ranging from £1 to £6 per acre. On the 21st December, 4,637 acres of Agricultural Deferred-Payment Land, being portion of the Wanganui Harbor Board Endowment, near Feildiug and the Tokomaru Block, near Wan anui, will be open for application, at Wanganui ami Wellington, at prices ranging from £1 10s per acre upwards. And on the 22nd December, there will be offered at public auction, at Wanganui, 6,818 acres in the above-named block-', for cash, at upset prices ranging from £1 5s per acre upwards. Full particulars of the above lands are publii-hed in the “ New Zealand Gazette ” No. 93, of the Bth November, 1882, copies of which can be obtained at any Land Office in the colony. Plans and Posters will be exhibited at all railway stations and Post Offices throughout the colony, and can be obtained at any of the Land Offices.
