The weather is glorious, and the attendance much above the average for the third day of the meeting. Christchurch Plate, of 1| miles and a distance. Mr Proudfoot’s Sir Modred (Thompson) I Hon. W. Robinson’s Cheviot (Derritt) 2 These were the only starters. Betting, 2 to 1 on Sir Modred, who made the running from the start. He was never caught, and won easily by two lengths. Time —3min. Six furlongs from home, Leos ran into second place, and The Poet imd Curate were together for. third, with. Natator close on their heels. Bounding tho turn for home, Natator camo through his horses, and after a rattling race home, - won by half a length, The Poet second, Curate a good third, and Leos fourth. Time—2mm 47$aoc.

Cult’s Wa'er Nymph Bst 101 b (Hickson) 2 Messrs Mason and Yallances Helen Bst 51bs ... (Williams) 3 Trickster Bst 51b also ran. Betting 6 to 4 on Water Nymph. A capital start was effected. Fair Agnes colt made ‘the running with the others close on his quarters. Coming up the straight Water Nymph rushed to the front, but inside the rails the Fair Agnes colt came again and won a splendid race by a length. Helena a bad third. Selling Plate Handicap of 50 sovs; six furlongs. Sir H. Robinson’s Gitana, Bst 6lbs (Yale) 1 Mr J. H. Lunn’s Whitebach.Qst slb (Bradly) 2 Mr G, Bates’ If So, 7st 121 b (Watson) 3 Eebecca, Amulet, Aurora, Statesman, and Gold Dust also ran. Gitana was the first away followed by Whitbach and Bebeooa. Bounding the turn for home Bebecca, when looking very dangerous, ran off the course. Gitana led to the finish, winning by two lengths, If So a good third. Time—lmin. 23isecs. Natator’s win to-day after his performance on the first day of the meeting excited considerable comment, and Mr G. Bates has writren to the stewards demanding an enquiry into the matter.
