ONE million seven hundred and fifty thousand acres of Crown Lands will shortly be open for Pastoral Lease in the Provincial District of Otago, New Zealand, This country is at present held under lease in forty-six runs until the Ist March 1884, and will again be offered in runs suitable to the nature of the country; but no lessee will be allowed to take up more than will carry twenty thousand sheep or four thousand bead of cattle. The leases will be for a term of years to be hereafter determined ; but in ho case will any lease he for a period exceeding twenty-one years. Compensation for improvement up to three years’ rental will be allowed at the end of the lease, In order to give new pastoral lessees time to make arrangements, the licenses will, in, terms of the Land Acts, be sold by public auction, at the Land Office, Dunedin, in the latter end of February, 1883,12 months before possession is to be given. Ode year’s rent will be payable in advance on the license at the time of sale. The country has been occupied for upwards of 20 years, It is well grassed, well watered, sound, and healthy. Distance from port by good roads and railways part of the way, from thirty th one hundred and fifty miles. Maps and further particulars will be obtainable shortly at the Land Offices of New Zealand, and at places in the Australian Colonies, to be named in future advertisements. WM.
