GERALDINE RACING CLUB. SPRING. MEETING.
(By Telegraph.] '
Obabi, This Day, The Geraldine Racing Club’s, annual Spring Meeting, was held on the new racecourse, Orari, to-day. There was a large attendance, and this, -being the first meeting of the season, most of the “cracks” met to try oonolu-. sions. The new ground was in fair order, but in laying., out the course, a mistake was made in forming too sharp an angle in the entrance at the straight run-in. The club are to be congratulated, however, on the success attending ; their efforts to provide a suitable racecourse for the district, and any defect will doubtless be remedied in the future. The ne,w grand stand is a decided improvement on the t old “ramshackle” structures!; Geraldine, blit the tradespeople (publicans especially) of that festive town, will not view the removal of the racecourse to Orari as an improvement. The special train arrangements did a good deal td promote the success, of the meeting, and taken altogether the day was a most enjoyable one.
