WAIMATE AGRICULTURAL AND PASTORAL ASSOCIATION.
A general meeting of this Association was r held, at ; Middleton’s Hotel on Saturday afternoon.* The chair was occupied by Mr W. J. Steward, M.H.R-i and about thirty members were present. It was resolved to hold :tbeo first :;show -ofs the Society - on Tuesday, Nov, 15. The following. Committee of Management were ap,pointed Messrs W. J. Steward, W. J". Hardie, M. M’Govern, G. 1 Morton, N. Hillary, J. H. Taylor; John O’Brien, G. Aikenhead, B. ‘ M’Oweb,N. O’Brien,Dr Chilton, S, Medlicott, and the officers. The report of the , Oomraiftee ’appointed to draw up. the prospectus of the proposed Dairy Factory Company, was read and adopted, it recommended a/: Company of 6000* shares at £1 each. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the Committee for the exhaustive report furnished. The meeting then adjourned for one week.
