Me-isrs Maclean and; Stewart report for the week as follows : Horses—Their entry on Saturday comprii »d 52 head, a fair proportion being good serviceable draught*, and the' remainder £»fpdiv:tn draughts, light 'harness, and hackneys. With the exception, .of .llrst;.class draughts,' the demand is still a shade easier,the highest price for these on Saturday being £37 each for a pair of geldings. They sold 23 head at the following prices: For good draughts; £25 to £37 ; medium, £l7 to £23 ; light harness and hacks, £8 to £lB.- V Cattle—At Studholme Junction, on ’.Monday la«t, 1 they sold 23 head fat cattle at from. £6 10s to £8 7s 6d. They also yarded 112 head young stores, but the prices oi-ered not being equal to sellers’ expeota- . tions, only 15 head were sold, at £3 5s each. At Winchester Fair on Thursday las' - , their entry was: for various • owners, 168 head, all of which were sold, as follows Calves; at 28s; yearlings, 38s to SOs'one and a half to two years old, 57s 6d tp 60s. TThere is an increased demand for well-grown store cattle' which is likely to continue and further improve as the season advances.. Fat cattle are, now ‘ very scarce in this district, and sales during the week are at fully 25s per '00)b. Bheep ’There is .' very little business ‘in store* sheep, at auction; a few small lots have changed hands privately during the week. At Winchester, on Thursday; they sold'37o merino wethers at ss. Fat .‘■beep are, in good demand, with, but few offering,'and are 'worth 2Jd per lb. ,

Messrs William Collins and Co. report a most Satisfactory attendance of buyers at their regular weekly auction on Saturday. The entries were large, but owing to the good competition prevailing all lots were quitted at the following femes; —Fresh butter, Is to Is 4d per lb ; Derwent potatoes, 45s to 60f per.ton, at the,latter figure they,placed during the,week 300 sacks for shipment to a southern port,, Feed barley 3s; tarlarihn. pats, ,2s 9d per bushel, bags extra; onions, 10s 6d per cwt; hams, 6d lb ; bacon, sd, to 6Jd,: must be.first- ■ class obtain/that figure,* inferior lota cannot be sold at any price. Fowl wheat ;Ba, 6dlto* 12s per/sack; seed potatoes, (earliest) 8s to 10s per sack ; bacon pigs, 3d per lb ; fowls, none) turkeys; ss, to 12b ; per pair; geese. 8s; ducks, 4s 6d; : Oysters 8d per dozen ; lard, 4d per.lb ;No 6 fencing wire (A.F.), £9 per ton. Groceries, boots, furniture and sundries wound up a heavy day's sale.: • /*■ :;i -' Messrs Sbuthan and Stubbs report for their usual weekly market and auction on Saturday as follows : —There was a veiry good attendance and bidding was brisk throughout.
