The cricket match between the Antralians and an United Eleven of Sooth England, which was commenced at Tunbridge Wells yesterday, could not be continued to-day owing to the heavy rain which was falling.
Sept. 2.
The cricket match between the Australian team and an united Eleven was resumed to-day at Tunbridge. The number of spectators was again large. The visitors, having three wickets to fall, and with 131 to their credit, continued their first innings, which closed for a total of 182. The principle scorer during the day was Bonnor, who was bowled fords. The Home team then commenced their first innings, and were all disposed of for 126 runs. The Australians then went in for their second innings, but only put together 49. The Englishmen bowled splendidly. Play was stopped when the Australians’ second innings closed, the match thns being drawn.
