INQUEST AT WAIMATE.

At the Waimate Hospital on Saturday, an inquest was held before J. Beswtck, Esq., on the death of W. Chambers. Mr F. Oaitt was chosen foreman of the Sry, and the evidence of Mrs James cGuinneas, Constable Guerin, and the Surgeon and Steward of the Hospital was taken. John Chambers, brother of deceased, identified the body. The evidence all went to show that death was caused by fracture of the skull, and was almost instantaneous, as well as quite accidental. Mbs McGuinncsa was commended by the Coroner for her prompt attention to deceased at the time of the accident, which she witnessed.
